The PressWave treatment provides a perfect, non-surgical shape contouring. Focused high-frequency pressure waves crush fat cells in a broad layer.
Pressure waves cause mechanical fat-tissue breakdown without damaging the surrounding tissues. The result is achieved several weeks after the natural depletion of permanently damaged fat cells (cell debris).
A single treatment destroys 30% of fat cells in the treated area. As the number of fat cells at birth is given, the result is to consider as final.
About the technology
Due to the high wave distance, pressure waves penetrate deep into the fat tissue and damage the wall and content of cells selectively. The technology works against the fat tissue only, so it’s completely safe. In effect of mild inflammation, the white blood cells will be activated and a macrophage activity is triggered.
The body’s defence and lymphatic system transports the injured cells in the next 8 to 10 days after the treatment, and the final and permanent result may be seen by then.
Before treatment, the operator cleans and disinfects the area to be treated and then marks the body part to be treated. Then, (s)he passes through the area to be treated in several directions by the treatment tip emitting pressure wave. Only mild warmth can be felt during treatment.

Practical information
The treatment is painless but at least a minimum of 2 cm fat is required in the area to be treated. Depending on the thickness of the fat tissue, 2-3 treatments are recommended; one treatment takes 40-90 minutes to complete, depending on the area.
At one time, only one part of the body can be treated because the body cannot process more than a given quantity of cell debris at one time. In the week after the treatment, a slight fatigue or headache may be experienced due to body’s detoxification and excretory activity. This can be avoided or reduced by drinking a lot of water and staying hydrated.
Treatment can be repeated after the fat has cleared up (10-14 days) that has been demolished during the previous procedure until the correct result is achieved.
